　　The seventh “Afternoon Tea” of Jeme Tienyow Honors College was held on the afternoon of November 26 at Siyuan Time Cafe, Beijing Jiaotong University. In this afternoon tea, Professor Wang Chenchen from the School of Electrical Engineering and Bian Wenyan, an undergraduate from School of Architecture and Design and the winner of the "Zhixing Scholarship" were invited to participate in this activity. Teachers and students of Jeme Tienyow Honors College, and some students from the School of Architecture and Art participated in the seminar.

　　Professor Wang Chenchen shared with the theme of "Electric Locomotive/EMU Electric Traction Drive System" by combining with the electric system in life, explained the basic knowledge of electric locomotive in a simple way, and helped everyone understand the concepts of high-speed rail and the advantages of electric traction. He emphasized the national strategic position of independent research and development products, asked the students questions, and encouraged everyone to think positively after the activity, actively seek answers, develop the habit of active learning, and cultivate the awareness of independent innovation and innovation ability.

　　Student Bian Wenyan’s theme sharing that the sea of ‘snow’ is boundless and the dream of ‘building’ Jiaotong University is ‘built’ was shared in an all-round way to introduce her learning experience and experience of "beauty". Through sharing the connotation of her work, she described her learning in detail. The process of changing thinking consciousness in the process of growing up guided students to develop a learning mode of discovering, thinking about, and solving problems in life. At the same time, she shared her love of skiing. She hoped that students could find their hobbies, love them, learn in the process and grow in an all-round way.

　　During the exchange session, students enthusiastically asked questions. The content covered "the innovative design of electric locomotives, a reasonable balance of learning and hobbies, channels for obtaining information on after-school activities, and risk prevention and operation specifications for engineering majors". The student representatives enrolled in 2020 from School of Architecture and Design also raised confusion about how to complete the transition from exam-oriented thinking to artistic thinking. The two guests gave detailed answers to the students’ questions and encouraged them to develop self-confidence and self-reliance.

　　"Tianyou Afternoon Tea" serves as a stage for students to grow and demonstrate. Each period provides different students with opportunities to serve as hosts and talent showcases. This activity ended successfully in the song "Goodbye" by Miya Ziping.

　　This "Tianyou Afternoon Tea" continues the two-dimensional sharing model of "academic tutor + outstanding student", continues to strengthen the concept of interdisciplinary integration and cultivation, and at the same time keeps exploring and innovating. While doing a good job in the education of students in our college, we will focus on the construction of staff members, and cooperate with each college to create a shared education platform for the whole school. It is aimed at sharing high-quality resources with all students from Beijing Jiaotong University, helping the smooth development of the "Three-Integrity Education" training work for the school and the strengthening of the "Four Links" training model, and contributing to the construction of "Double First-Class" of Beijing Jiaotong University.
