Tianyou Afternoon Tea Jeme Tienyow Honors College Held the Sixth "Tianyou Afternoon Tea" as Scheduled

　　On the afternoon of November 19th, the Siyuan Time Cafe of Beijing Jiaotong University ushered in the sixth "Tianyou Afternoon Tea" of Jeme Tienyow Honors College. In this afternoon tea, Professor Liu Ze from the School of Electric and Information Engineering and Feng Xingyu, the winner of the “Zhixing Scholarship” for undergraduates from the School of Electronical Engineering, were invited to be speakers. Teacher representatives and more than 20 students who had signed up voluntarily from Jeme Tienyow Honors College participated in this activity, Huang Zhidong from Tianyou 2009 Class served as the moderator of this activity.

　　Mr. Liu Zhenhao first played "My Motherland and Me" with a bamboo flute for everyone. His state was full of emotions, arousing rounds of applause from the students at the scene.

　　Professor Liu Ze’s topic sharing on "Automation and Space Gravitational Wave Detection Technology" was divided into two parts. First, from a professional point of view, he introduced the basic content of the automation industry, such as the overview of the automation industry, application fields, and professional content, so that students can have a preliminary understanding of the field of automation. Then, he explained the mysterious gravitational waves in vivid and plain language, emphasizing the significance of the national strategic task of detecting gravitational waves. Professor Liu also demonstrated the drone to help everyone further understand the importance of automatic control and encourage everyone to actively learn about cutting-edge technology and take the initiative to participate.

　　Feng Xingyu started from his badminton learning career. From the three perspectives of "Meeting on a Narrow Road, the Brave Wins", "Opening up New Ideas in Scientific Research and Practice", "Unity and Dedication to Work Together, Drinking Water to Think of the Source", he recounted the examples of his common progress in various aspects such as study, sports, competition, social work and volunteering during his university, encouraging everyone to take the initiative to cultivate hobbies, actively participate in scientific research competitions and social works, and let themselves "get up and be busy" while making a good time plan to make busyness meaningful.

　　Afterwards, teachers and students exchanged ideas on the shared content. The questions covered "the characteristics of human time and space, the timeliness of physical laws, how to start participating in a competition and find inspiration, how to rationally plan your university time". The two guests responded positively to the students’ questions. Professor Liu Ze also described the importance of Jeme Tienyow Honors College to our university, highly praised Jeme Tienyow Honors College’s cross-integration and innovative thinking training model, and encouraged students to think more during the school, and find their love for the profession. Feng Xingyu called on everyone to arrange time reasonably, adjust to university life as soon as possible, cultivate independent living habits and personal abilities, and truly become a qualified university student from a personal perspective. After the exchange, the college presented the two guests with Tianyou's characteristic souvenirs, and the activity ended successfully in a relaxed atmosphere.

　　The sixth "Tianyou Afternoon Tea" changed the previous academic tutor-led sharing model, adopting the "academic tutor plus excellent senior" two-dimensional sharing model, which not only strengthened students' understanding of professional fields, but also cultivated students' sense of independence, and helped students adapt to the university as soon as possible.
